On view will be broadsides that Saunders created with Trillium Press for the world premiere production of Dr. Faustus, which was written and directed by David Mamet and performed at the Magic Theater in San Francisco in 2004. Saunders responded to the theme of the play by creating an original painting depicting a visual musing on heaven and hell. Twelve pigment prints were created of the painting by Trillium Press and each was individually augmented with handwork and collage in keeping with Saunders’ art making practice. Like individual performances of a single play, each of these works retains a unique character. Proceeds from sales of these artworks will benefit The Magic Theatre.
